LET THEM DIE!

Dear All
Since last few weeks i have acting this Turtle saviour with no one really taking interest. But strangely I dont feel tired. may be some will read . may be someone may feel the need to speak up.
After all they will be extinct in a few years. We can shed a few last minute tears. The port Of Dhamra has already been started .I magine the shipping Traffic,Oil spills,Urbanization will do to the peaceful nesting gorund.
But the question arises,is there time left to save them?Yes,if we try. But do we wnat to try.
Are they really important for us?The problem is we cant find the significance of these creatures in our daily lives. Partly we can blame on the education system which till 2003 did nt had compulsary environmental studies in all classes.
Till then we ,our parents never bothered about environment. this apathy is a long back sown seed which has made this planet a toxic ball breathing fire.We always wake up too late. When somethings gone or dead.
This time too we are watching and waiting till the moment when we can finally pay our condolences to the Olive Ridley turtles. So lets watch and feel proud of ourselves that we saw another species being wiped out in our complete knowledge in broad daylight.

Good Going Mr .TATA

I know I have been blabbering all this while about Turtles with no ears to listen ,but finally the Turtles have understood that they are not welcome at there nesting site anymore. There has'nt been any mass nesting near Gahirmatha marine sanctuary this season. This is mainly due to dredging at the port site.
The port is too close to the sanctuary. What about the large amounts of shipping traffic, marine pollution, oil spills and urban development which will Take Place. I thought Olive Ridleys are equally endangered as Tigers. But I guess its too late now. This time TATA's have managed to wipe out a species from this planet. So much for there tireless CSR and Fake love for the environment.
I guess we all are heading to a cold, callous un-empathetic existence which is very proud of itself. We just love to be cruel.
So Mr .TATA you may be a great man but not this time atleast, not this time.

Nothing Much to Say

Orissa is a state with a rich biodiversity and rich mineral deposits and a growing list of national and international investments, including steel mines and ports. It is more important than ever before that we take great care of the rich and unique biodiversity that Orissa possesses. Development that enriches society in the long term and does not jeopardize ecological sustainability must be our goal. There are alternatives to the Dhamra port site, and the legitimate needs of the state can be met from existing and other planned ports. There is thus no need for a port in this environmentally critical location.
Mr Tata has done much for India and its economic prosperity. He has repeatedly assured Greenpeace that he will not harm the turtles or biodiversity. We, and thousands of other Indians, expect him to live up to this promise and the great legacy that he represents. I am not attacking him, simply asking him to see reason and prove once more that his company is truly “green at heart”.

Please everyone join hands in saving these turtles.

regards Jayesh

Dead!!!

Dead!Wednesday,May 14 2008, 04:39:51 PM
A few days back I was watching a programme on discovery. Saw speices which will inherit our planet hundred years from now. The earth I saw i could nt recognize. The shock was unbearable. Amazon had turned into Grassland. There were only carnivore Bats in the Sky ,no birds.Patridges had mutated into beaver like creatures. There were hunter birds which size of ostrich. The only decendant of homo sapien was a chimp which could still stand on two feet. As I switched of the TV I felt some weird solace in my mind.Thank God I will die before I see this. I guess the idea of barren and desolate earth we talk about does nt scare us because of Mortality. Mortality reduces and rescues mankind from a lot of pain. I pitty those who will inherit the Planet after us. I hope todays parents have prepared there children well enough for Climate change,floods,earthquake,Co2,So2,co as they have to deal with them all. No luxary of water ,swimming pools. No forests to look for pure oxygen and colourful birds and flowers. They might look back and curse us ,but who cares we are all dead. We are actually dead, already. The Planet which gave us life is suffocating to death by our own hands, and we are watching. We are not alive our conscience is dead. We have to develop. Figures ,numbers ,profit. Anything else is a emotional ploy. I feel surprise sometimes over human audacity. The sheer arrogance under the cloud of complete dependancy of nature. Can we swith to breathe something else like Ccarbon monooxide. As Our vehicles exhale only that. human greedthus has no boudaries. But There a few things we can do.Save a life whenever its possible. We can help those who are dying. The Tigers, leopards, trutles all of them.Just pick one of them.Save,Conserve. The turtles I am talking about are Olive Ridleys. They swim across thousands of kilometers to nest at traquil beaches where they were born. The last remaining nesting ground is orissa. But this habitat is also threatened now. The port at Dhamra will adversly there habitat. Please all of you who are reading, join hands to save them.
